Quilt Block Tutorial

I just discovered this method for making a quilt block. It is such a fun block to do with scraps. I am using it to make a quilt for my niece for her wedding in September. She said she loved purples and greens but her fiance like neutrals and browns. By making it scrappy, I was able to put all the desires in one quilt.

First sew four 5 inch squares to make a 4-patch.

Next, cut 1 1/2 inches from each center seam line.

Third, Rotate the 4 pieces that have 2 narrow strips of each color half a turn.

And finally, sew the block back together.

Here are the rest of the fabrics. Stay tuned for progress pictures as I complete the different blocks and start putting this together.

  1. Very cool. Looking forward to seeing more.

  3. Wow...that's great for an easy quilt using charm packs for a scrappy look...thanks Vicki

  4. That is neat. Not enough time in my life to all the quilts I want to. Time is passing to fast. Can I see the finished product at camp?
