Details about "The Sweater"

The pattern is Knitting Pure & Simple Neck Down Swing Cardigan. The yarn is Ultra Alpaca Light by Berroco and is DK weight. I used one skein of 144 yards less than what the pattern called for and I even made the sleeves long instead of 3/4 length. I knitted it right on gauge and chose the size 36 for my 37 chest measurement at the suggestion of my instructor because the next size was a 40. Am I glad I went with the smaller size because it is still big on me. I did block it last night and it is better but will be worn as more of a jacket over a layer or two. The yarn is wonderful and so soft. I also cast on an extra stitch at the end of the row at the suggestion of my instructor because the pattern would not have been symmetrical if I didn't. Other than that, it was a nice and easy knit, really good for my 1st sweater attempt.

  1. Thanks for posting the information for the pattern and the type of yarn you used. It's always so helpful to hear about changes and how that improved the pattern for you. I need to find an instructor to help me figure things out. Yours sure turned out nice!!!
