Two Eye Surgeries

October 22 and October 29 were eye surgery days to have lens replacement because of cataracts. Everyone told me how much better I'd see and how easy the surgery goes that I had very little trepidition about the process. What I didn't foresee was that mine wasn't typical and because of 5 times more astigmatism that the average person, there were more complications and different, more complicated lenses. Luckily, both surgeries are over, unluckily I've had all kinds of side effects normally not seen in cataract surgery. So all that quilting I was planning on doing a couple of days after surgery hasn't happened. I apologize to all those waiting for your quilts and I promise to get to them as soon as possible. The doc estimates by next week I should be able to do a little quilting. Most of the pain has let up and I am beginning to see a little better. Once the swelling calms and I no longer have to keep my eyes dilated, life should start looking better, literally. After putting in 26 drops of medication daily, anyone would probably be cranky so I'm trying hard to pray for others that I know are dealing with lifelong complications with their health and I've taken an oath to stop whining. Thanks to all who have been so supportive and kept me in their prayers.

  2. Oh, I am so sorry to hear that you have experienced complications. i should have come for you, instead of allowing you to stress your eyes trying to see the road. I enjoyed immensly to be able to visit with you though, and pray every hour takes you closer to 20/20 on both eyes! Love, Solveig

  3. Hey Viki, sorry to hear you have been having problems...it must be driving you crazy not being able to quilt or piece but I'm sure there will be many benefits once you have allowed yourself to heal.

Take care, hope you see me soon!
