What a Ruler!

Our guild needed a presentation since our speaker had to cancel, so I came up with the idea of demonstrating different rulers. Of course, I had to actually try the rulers out and make samples and was delighted with this little baby. It's called Leaves Galore and there are wonderful youtubes on it. It is such a versatile ruler! You can make dozens of leaves in very little time, use the same ruler for vines, use the very same ruler for making a variety of flowers, and even use the pieces that were not complete to fill in behind flowers. These pics are only a sampling of what the ruler can do. You can buy a book full of ideas from leaves and flowers to using the ruler to draw guidelines for quilting and even for marking scalloped edges to a quilt. This one by Sue Pelland has a thumbs up from me.

  3. I use Leaves Galore rulers on my longarm for the spines for feathers in borders. It helps keep everything perfect spaced in lonnnnng borders. I have even talked with Sue Pelland to ask her to created this ruler in 3/8" thick acrylic. Funny, I have never used it for the purpose for which it was designed.
